Neil Gaiman isn’t a fan of Michael Gorman either (welcome to the club). I’ve been really amazed by the reaction of people outside of the library world to Gorman’s piece, but I was thrilled to see an author — whom I’m a big fan of — write an excellent, witty post about the whole ridiculous thing. Thanks for rightly bringing up the fact that Gorman has painted librarians — yes, all of us — in a bad light. And for a profession that has fought hard to not be stereotyped as people who hate technology and change, this has pushed us at least two steps back.

Well, one can certainly say that Michael Gorman made a name for himself, though I think I’d rather remain anonymous than be thought of in the way people are thinking of him.
