Something I think some potential presenters miss is the oft-heard institutional-repository refrain &quot;It takes seven mentions!&quot; Busy researchers need to hear about IRs seven times before they do anything about them.

The same is true of librarians. We&#039;re busy. We need time to let things sink in. And the more often we hear about something, the more likely we are to act on it.

So people thinking, &quot;Gosh, so-and-so did that presentation at LibCon last year, so I can&#039;t possibly do it,&quot; should think twice. So-and-so&#039;s LibCon presentation didn&#039;t reach everybody it should have. Things have changed since so-and-so did that presentation, too. Please. Consider repeating, with a bit of a slant.</description>
