		<description>This is not a criticism of ALA, just a musing on the problems of official wikidom. For some organizations, it may simply make more sense to look benignly on as enterprising members take it upon themselves to do things like conference wikis that have the potential to cause legal issues if stamped with the stamp of officialdom.

Obviously every organization has to make its own call on these things -- it&#039;d be a shame if ALA rolled back its blogs, which I can&#039;t imagine they have any intention of doing, over similar potential legal headaches!

But conference wikis strike me as a little dicier. I wouldn&#039;t fault ALA if they decided not to do &quot;official&quot; ones.</description>
