I was poking around customsearchguide.com and found that ALA seems to be working on a Google custome search engine called Librarian's Library. Don't know if this is widely known or not.

Hello Joshua Neff!

Yes, please do send all your feed URLs our way so we can make sure they get added. Qualifying for inclusion in LibWorm is pretty easy. You must: (1)Have a valid feed and (2)be about librarianship. Meet those qualifications and your feeds WILL be included. There's a form for submitting feeds at LibWorm.

Best,

-David Rothman

Joshua (Neff) -- if you just let David know, I'm sure he'd be happy to add you to the sites that are searched by LibWorm. :)

I have to agree with David on this one. I don't think it's an either/or issue. Google Blog Search is great for searching blogs, while LibWorm is great for searching content specific to our field and more than just blogs.

I agree with the other Joshua. If only for the egocentric reason that my own blog shows up in a Google blog search, but not in a LibWorm search.

Hi Joshua-

Sure I use Google Blog Search, too. But LibWorm doesn't just search blogs, and can be limited just to biblioblogs instead of the entire blogosphere.

Comparing LibWorm with Google Blog Search is like comparing A wrench to a hammer. They're both tools, but they really have different ideal uses.

Best,

-David Rothman
