Meredith -- This is not only a great program for libraries, it's a great model for other industries looking to embrace social media tools. Well done!

Meredith, I'm responding from miles away in the Bahamas. I've been trying to think of ways to bring our academic library into the 21 century and not leave our patrons (especially faculty) behind. You've given me a great idea for trying something differnt to get our faculty involved in the life of the library. Thanks!

Great job, Meredith.

You are not only helping the participants -- I feel like I've learned quite a bit too!

Ditto! I haven't had the opportunity to peruse the 5 weeks stuff very deeply yet, but I'm impressed with what I've seen. It's inspiring me not only to keep working on growing our own efforts, but also to think about ways I can contribute to the wider community. :-)

Thank you, Meredith, and all the other hard working folks who have made this happen. And, thank you for showing me "the hope."

There are some absolutely amazing things going on in our profession! I, and maybe some others, need to remember that.

Thank you.

I just love upbeat posts [no emoticon, no irony, telling the truth].

"That this course even exists is a testament to what a wonderfully open profession we are a part of and what a great leveler the online world is."

That sounds exactly right on both counts. I've had evidence of the former in the past: even without the facilitation that web software provides, it's possible for an unknown (and even uncredentialed) person to make a difference with a good idea and some energy.

These days, it's maybe a little easier and definitely has the potential for broader reach. You still need good ideas, the energy to make them work, and the intelligence to do them right. You and the Five Weeks crew seem to have all of that covered nicely.
