I think that you and the other organisers did a great job, and I think that your decision to have interactive IM sessions was one of the things that made the group a 'community of learners'. I'm really pleased to read all of the comments about the usefulness of wikis, too! It would be interesting to check back with the participants in 6 months and find out how they're getting on with their projects. Before that... probably three to five hours per week on average from August onwards, though there were weeks where I probably spent an hour or two on the course and others where I spent eight to ten hours. It was a huge time commitment, no doubt. Believe me, it was worth it though... a satisfaction that is better than money. Though if an organization wanted to hire me as a consultant to help them replicate this, I certainly wouldn't object. It's the open source business model. ;) You're very sweet Ryan!
