I&#8217;ve been really amazed by the reaction of people outside of the library world to Gorman&#8217;s piece, but I was thrilled to see an author &#8212; whom I&#8217;m a big fan of &#8212; write an excellent, witty post about the whole ridiculous thing.  Thanks for rightly bringing up the fact that Gorman has painted librarians &#8212; yes, all of us &#8212; in a bad light.  And for a profession that has fought hard to not be stereotyped as people who hate technology and change, this has pushed us at least two steps back.<\/p>\n<p>Well, one can certainly say that Michael Gorman made a name for himself, though I think I&#8217;d rather remain anonymous than be thought of in the way people are thinking of him.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Neil Gaiman isn&#8217;t a fan of Michael Gorman either (welcome to the club).
