Between the move and the probability of Internet access issues, I can’t promise anything. I’m sure I’ll be able to write a bit about what’s going on with the move and the job, but the longer posts will probably have to wait for September.

Until then, here is a list of blogs and presentations you may be interested in checking out:

Wanderings of a Student Librarian – She’s just started a series on how to be successful in library school.

Open Stacks – Greg’s starting a Carnival of the Infosciences. Interesting idea and I’ll be curious to see how it works out.

It’s all good – a great blog by folks at OCLC. Check out the recent series of posts on environmental scanning

Library Voice – Chad is doing some really exciting stuff with wikis, blogs and IM at his library!

Lessig Blog – He’s had some interesting guest bloggers over the past few weeks and Jimmy Wales (of Wikipedia fame) is blogging right now.

If you have the time to listen to a podcast, do listen to the ones at the NEASIST Conference entitled Syndicate, Aggregate, Communicate. Jenny Levine, Megan Fox, and Michael Stephens all gave great presentations, but Jenny’s was the one that really gave me the most food for thought. Other conference materials (slides, bibs, etc.) and some interesting blog posts are also up on the NEASIST Blog. With the podcasts and the slides, it’s almost like being there! I know this conference happened over 2 months ago, but it’s still really worth giving a look/listen. They talk a lot about how new collaborative technologies can be used in libraries to develop online communities. Great stuff!

As for me, I’m excited about listening to Richard Russo’s Straight Man and David Sedaris’ Naked and Me Talk Pretty One Day on the way to Vermont. You rock! I’m really impressed with how librarians practice what they preach as many of our colleagues have filled out the survey already. With any other community, I’d be lucky to get three surveys filled out!
