I lived in Denmark for a year while in college, and I haven’t been back in nine years. Adam’s coming with me and we’re spending a whole week in Copenhagen, seeing the sights and catching up with some of my old friends who haven’t seen me since I was 21 (eeek!).

I’m hoping to still have a bit of time this Fall for apple-picking and enjoying the beautiful foliage. My Director suggested that I cut down on taking time away from work for speaking (she told me this after the commitments I’d already made here plus 2 more in ’08), so other than ALA Midwinter and the OLA Superconference, I may not be doing anything else in the Winter and Spring. It’s certainly not a bad idea to have a break from all this imposed on me. I’ve been really running around like a crazy person over the past two years and I must admit that it’s been exhausting. Fun, definitely, but exhausting. I have a feeling the online course I’ll be teaching (plus my regular full-time job) will keep me busy enough.

I’m definitely looking forward to meeting lots of new people at these conferences and learning about how other libraries are currently using social technologies.

I had a nice, sparse, mellow speaking schedule all set for Fall, and then I got a few offers I couldn’t refuse, which turned my Fall into another disaster.
