Wikimania Day 2: Library conference planners take note!

By Meredith Farkas | August 5, 2006

Can I tell you how nice it is to have free wireless EVERYWHERE at this conference? Not only that, but the seats are comfortable, and the desks or armrests have power adapters in them. Every conference should be at Harvard Law School. ;)

Seriously, if you want bloggers to cover your conference, make it as easy as possible for them to do so. I won’t blog another conference that doesn’t have wireless Internet access in the rooms where the sessions actually take place. It just means I have to spend time between sessions writing up my posts instead of networking and continuing discussions from the sessions.

And the idea of speaker’s lounge with free snacks and drinks isn’t so bad either. Heck, even the Vermont Library Association’s conference had that! Popcorn and diet cokes and power adapters for speakers can’t be that expensive and it gives your speakers a warm fuzzy feeling.

Agree with you Meredith, but remember one can always compose posts offline and then post them once wireless is available :-)
