Bloggers in LJ

I was excited to see that the Bloggers Roundtable I did with several other fabulous librarian bloggers finally made its way into Library Journal. It’s a great article, but part of me was disappointed that it didn’t capture the synergy that was going on in that room. It was a truly amazing, enlightening, and inspiring conversation between six bloggers who are brimming with passion about what they do (and what they want to do). I guess it’s hard to capture that sort of energy in an article, especially with limited wordspace.

Here are a couple of pics from the Bloggers Roundtable (so you can see who’s who) and from the ALA Conference (I was too busy getting inspired to take many pics).

Thanks Michael and Brian for putting us all in a room and getting the conversation going. That discussion that gave me the impetus to start the Library Success Wiki, which was an idea I’d been toying with for months, but just wasn’t sure about. To all the other bloggers in that conversation, you really inspire me to keep doing this!

Library Journal cover

Update: OMG! We’re on the cover! I can tell you that gave me quite a shock this afternoon! I don’t think I’ve ever been on the cover of anything before (unless you count the picture I have from 5th grade of my best friend and I on what looks like the cover of US magazine with Johnny Depp — we loved those carnival booths!).

George, Alice and I (It’s All Good) were invited to attend to, but the time conflicted with the OCLC symposium so we had to say, sorry. Good thing, too. George and I would have seriously compromised the coolness factor of the attendees…we’d have looked like y’alls parents. 🙂

  2. I think you all would have upped the coolness factor! Age is just a number. It’s passion and innovative ideas that matter.
