Now this is a great project to come from an LIS class!
Welcome to the Library and Information Science (LIS) Publications wiki. This wiki gathers information about publications that LIS professionals might want to write for — whether they want to reach their colleagues or their communities. All editors, publishers, and LIS professionals are welcome to contribute to the publication profiles. To participate, just create a free account and log in.
Bravo to Laurie Putnam and her students at SJSU for putting this incredibly useful resource together!
Thanks, Meredith. Our students have done a great job of laying the groundwork here — we already have profiles (or, at least, partial profiles) for nearly 200 publications! I hope librarian-writers everywhere will find the wiki useful, and I encourage everyone — writers, editors, reviewers — to help enhance the wiki. Once you’ve created an account, you can set up entries for new publications, correct outdated information, or add comments on a publication’s potential for librarian-writers. The more people participate, the more useful the wiki will be!
I was a student in Laurie Putnam’s class (Publishing for the LIS Profession), and I very much enjoyed contributing to this amazing resource. Thanks for mentioning it!
