Description: Norwich University’s Kreitzberg Library seeks a dynamic, team-oriented librarian for the position of Coordinator of Public Services. This individual will lead the development, delivery and assessment of all public service activity, including: reference, information literacy, interlibrary loan, government documents and circulation. The successful candidate will lead and participate with a team of seven FTEs in the provision of reference and instructional services. As liaison to several academic departments, the Coordinator also participates in collection development. This position supervises 5 FTE library faculty and staff, reports to the Library Director and serves on the library management team.
Requirements: a degree from an ALA-accredited program, a minimum of 4 years of public service experience in an academic library, and evidence of success in leadership; supervision; and the development and delivery of information literacy instruction. The successful candidate will possess specialized knowledge of electronic resources, library reference materials, user services, customer relations and operations analysis and improvement. Strong communication and organizational skills are essential. The successful candidate will be aware of current trends and best practices, and possess excellent interpersonal skills. Must have a demonstrated commitment to user-centered service and to professional development.
