Cutting class — almost a right of passage in high school — is no longer an option for Houston area students. While this particular project was designed for benign purposes (to prevent kidnappings), it isn’t difficult to imagine RFID technology being used to invade the privacy of all children and adults. For more on this very slippery slope, visit the Electronic Frontier Foundation’s RFID page.
