I want to wish a hearty congratulations to my good friend (and “wing man”) Michelle Boule, for being chosen by LITA to represent them in the ALA Emerging Leaders program. There are few people in this profession with such passion and enthusiasm as Michelle, and she is someone who is really willing to put her money where her mouth is and work hard to develop free educational opportunities for librarians and to serve her division. I have had the pleasure of working with Michelle on two projects: last year’s HigherEd BlogCon and this year’s Five Weeks to a Social Library. There is no one I’d rather have at my side working on a project.
The LITA folks said “she is a wonderful example of what an emerging leader for ALA and LITA should be.” I’d go a little further and say that she is a wonderful example of what an emerging leader for our profession should be. And she’s wicked fun to hang out with!
Congratulations Michelle! I agree wholeheartedly that you are a wonderful example of an emerging leader. I look forward to seeing you in Seattle!
Thanks. Meredith, I’ll be your wingman any day.
