Yesterday, at my job interview, I was asked to talk about the 21st century library and what I would bring to it. I wish I had read this article by Robert S. Martin of IMLS (in College and Research Libraries News) before I went to the interview. While I did talk about libraries changing their focus from being the information gatekeepers to being the facilitators of information access by making access more seamless, he describes the changing face of librarianship so much better than I ever could.

Still, I think I did a good job at my interview. Didn’t flub the booktalk I had to give (and it was my first). I gave it my best shot and I have no regrets. Fingers crossed!
