Firefox 2 is my new best friend

By Meredith Farkas | November 1, 2006

Can I just tell you how much I love Firefox 2? I’m usually the last person in the world to download an update, but I’d heard such good things about it that I threw caution to the wind. And the hype was definitely warranted. Some cool features include:

I will admit that I had to install Firefox 2 twice, as the first time the stuff in my toolbars didn’t show up and the search tool in the toolbar didn’t work at all. But now it’s hunky dory!

My favorite newly discovered extension is Morning Coffee. If you’re like me, you probably have certain sites you visit every day first thing in the morning. Well, Morning Coffee allows you to add those to your profile and when you click on the coffee button, it will open all of those Web sites for you in tabs. You can have even have different Web pages open on different days. Whee!

Next thing to install… Zotero! Can you tell that I love new toys?

I haven’t tried it yet. See slashdot for a less sanguine opinion.

Zotero… love it! Just installed it and I really like being able to add little dribs and drabs of info via the notes. I’m a big delicious user and thus, a big fan of tagging, which you can also do. Yay!

I had to install it twice, too. But now that it’s up and running, it’s pretty sweet. My only gripe is that they replaced the traditional Firefox toolbar icons (which I’ve always liked) with new ones (which I don’t like nearly so well).

You forgot to mention that when it crashes while you were in the middle of typing a blog posts – it restores with your form filled in!!! I had this experience and was sooooooo happy to find my post still in place.

My only complaint is that my Snapper Extension doesn’t work :( and I really loved that.

I didn’t even know they had upgraded Firefox, I’ve been looking at the green arrow at the top right for weeks now.

The one thing that has really bugged one about Firfox is it’s crashed a few time and I’ve lost all my bookmarks…I have version 2 has fixed this
