Can I just tell you how much I love Firefox 2? I’m usually the last person in the world to download an update, but I’d heard such good things about it that I threw caution to the wind. And the hype was definitely warranted. Some cool features include:

  • Spell-checking in forms (it’s doing it right now!)
  • If Firefox or your computer crashes, it can restore your session right where you left off. I seem to always have Firefox crash right when I have like 8 windows and 25 tabs open and haven’t bookmarked anything. Such a great feature!
  • I don’t know if this was a feature of Firefox before — I may just not have noticed — but you have so many choices of what you want to use as a search tool in your toolbar. This includes the Weather Channel, Flickr tags, Technorati, and the Wikipedia. Hot! Oh, and it also will suggest words while you’re typing!
  • One-click subscriptions to Bloglines and other aggregators. Just click on the little RSS button in the URL window.

I will admit that I had to install Firefox 2 twice, as the first time the stuff in my toolbars didn’t show up and the search tool in the toolbar didn’t work at all. But now it’s hunky dory!

My favorite newly discovered extension is Morning Coffee. If you’re like me, you probably have certain sites you visit every day first thing in the morning. Well, Morning Coffee allows you to add those to your profile and when you click on the coffee button, it will open all of those Web sites for you in tabs. You can have even have different Web pages open on different days. Whee!

Next thing to install… Zotero! Can you tell that I love new toys?
