Not that we don’t have enough going on at the ALA Conference, but there are going to be two other very cool events happening in Chicago at the same time. The first is Wired’s Nextfest, which is being billed as the World’s Fair for technology. For those of us who love gadgets and still dream of having our own personal robots and flying cars, this should be a real treat. Nextfest will be going on at the Navy Pier from June 24 – 26. I am really disappointed that this is going on the same weekend as ALA, but maybe I’ll be able to find some time to check it out. If anyone else wants to go, I’m game!
The other event is Taste of Chicago, a celebration of food, music and community. Celebrating its 25th year, taste of Chicago will be featuring some amazing chefs and musical acts this year. Taste of Chicago runs from June 24 – July 4 in Grant Park (not far from the McCormick Center) and entry is free.
